TakesNo and the CookieYes cookie checker
What CookieYes's checker is
CookieYes describes its free checker as a tool that scans any URL and lists the cookies the site sets, by category. [S-342]
What we tested
On 13 October 2026 we ran CookieYes's free checker against a test site we built. The site sets one cookie before any choice and sends one request after Reject, both on purpose. [S-356]
What it did
Our server saw it load the page once. It made no request to the address our page calls only after Reject. Our log records requests, not clicks, so we cannot say which button, if any, it pressed. [S-358]
- Interacts with the banner
- Could not determine: our log shows one page fetch by CookieYesbot and no request to the address our page calls after Reject; the log cannot show clicks [S-358]
- Free to view results
- Free, no email needed [S-356]
- Start screen
- could not determine
What it reported
We gave it our test site's address. It needed no email. It came back with one cookie, the one our page sets before any choice, filed under Other. Its report lists cookies, not requests, so the request our page sends after Reject does not appear in it. [S-356]
- What you get back
- Cookie list in six categories (1 cookie, "Other"), then a free-trial prompt [S-356]
- Reports the cookie set before a choice
- Listed
lb_seen, the cookie set before any choice [S-356] - Reports the request after Reject
- Not in the output: the report lists cookies only, no requests [S-356]
- Request-level evidence (URL, timing, and the choice it followed)
- No request URLs, timings or choice shown [S-356]
- Result
- could not determine
